Learning Pool awarded the ‘Mark of Progress’ by Diversity Mark NI

Learning Pool is delighted to have been acknowledged for their commitment to advancing gender diversity in the workplace, receiving the Mark Of Progress by Diversity Mark Northern Ireland.

Diversity Mark NI Ltd is an independent not-for-profit organisation enabling companies to achieve a Charter Mark to recognise their commitment to Diversity and Inclusion, initially focusing on Gender Diversity.

By signing up to the Charter Mark, Learning Pool has committed to implementing structural and cultural changes that will help advance diversity and inclusion by building a positive and inclusive workplace culture at Learning Pool.

Louise McElvaney, Director of People and Performance commented:

‘We signed up to the Charter Mark last year and are delighted to receive the Gender Diversity Charter Mark NI at Bronze level. At Learning Pool we’re passionate about providing people with an opportunity to grow and develop in their careers, and we are determined to address the barriers facing minorities and underrepresented genders that may impact career progression. Bronze certification is a wonderful endorsement that shows that we are fully committed to gender diversity. We hope to advance diversity demands and will continue to develop and create positive work environments for our employees, to ensure Learning Pool continues to be a great place to work.’

Christine White, Head of Diversity Mark NI commented:

“We are delighted to award Learning Pool with a Bronze Diversity Charter Mark. They within their application have shown a real commitment to implementing inclusive growth and cultural shifts within the workplace. The Charter has enabled organisations to identify and reflect on institutional barriers facing women and minorities, which impact progression on the career ladder. Through this, organisations have also taken steps to progress the overall diversity and equality agenda and improve the working environment for everyone.”

The Bronze certification will be valid for 2 years, depending on how well a company performs in its yearly evaluation. Learning Pool will also have the option to apply for silver and then work their way up to Gold.

This is the latest succession of awards for Learning Pool, building on its commitment to culture and community. They were also delighted to have scooped two awards in the International Excellence in CSR Awards; Gold for ‘Community Commitment’ and Silver for ‘Volunteering’.
