Safeguarding refers to the process of protecting children and at-risk adults to provide safe and effective care. There are six principles for effective safeguarding: empowerment, prevention, proportionality, protection, partnership, and accountability.
At Learning Pool, we believe the principle of empowerment is one of the fundamentals of safeguarding a person at risk. And as Lord Justice Mundy captured perfectly, “What good is making someone safer if it merely makes them miserable?” [2010].
Maintaining our focus on protecting the dignity and empowerment of those in need of safeguarding, we’re pleased to announce the completion of our much anticipated Safeguarding Suite.
This new suite is an all-encompassing set of modules that will aid healthcare workers and also those who may be in contact with children or at-risk adults.
This elearning goes beyond simply telling learning about the legislation and frameworks associated with safeguarding. It aims to instil them with confidence to tackle safeguarding situations and equip them with the practical tools to ensure each person is given the person-centered approach they deserve.
In designing the suite, we concentrated on case studies that reflect realistic situations learners may find themselves in. In doing this, we believe learners will gain practical knowledge and relevant skills they’ll need for on-the-job learning.
The Safeguarding Suite includes 17 modules – the core modules (Levels 1-3) are mapped to their relevant frameworks with the remaining modules providing additional and specific content related to other aspects of safeguarding.
Core Modules: Mapped to Intercollegiate Adult Safeguarding Guidance (2018)

The suite comes fully equipped with assessments and reflections so that learners can test their own understanding and reflect on their learning. As a Skills for Care elearning provider, all learners will have the option to further their development with CPD certification.
Sharing the right information, at the right time, with the right people is fundamental to good practice in safeguarding but has been highlighted as a difficult area of practice. This Safeguarding Suite is available within our Learning Libraries and can be utilized as part of a full catalogue subscription. Get in touch to arrange your free trial today.
