About the role

As a member of Learning Pool’s Commercial Management team, this role is crucial to the ongoing rapid growth of the company and presents significant potential for career development and personal reward for the successful candidate.

Open to experienced Inside Sales Managers, the role has responsibility for the development of an existing team of four Graduate Internal Business Development Executives and the remit to grow this team significantly in the short to medium term.

What you'll be doing

The key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Lead, develop and maintain an early-career team of 8-10 new business Internal Business Development Executive
  • Recruit and enable high-potential individuals and manage an accelerated career path to high sales performance
  • Effectively coach and develop team members, ensuring adherence to Learning Pool’s sales processes
  • Develop effective KPIs supporting commercial achievement
  • Achieve allocated sales targets through creative and effective use of direct and virtual team resources
  • Provide market insight to the product management function to ensure the Learning Pool solution roadmap remains at the forefront of the e-learning industry
  • Feed in to sales strategy liaising with product and content to ensure our offering remains relevant to UK and USA SMEs
  • Make full use of the Salesforce CRM system, ensuring accuracy of team lead, contact, opportunity and account information at all times whilst using KPI’s and reporting insights to constantly manage and improve performance



Who we are looking for

The successful candidate will demonstrate the following:

  • A bright, ambitious and personable individual with a track record of success in leading a B2B new business sales team through the full cycle; preferably in the technology industry
  • Demonstrable success in enabling others to proactively create a sustainable, self-generated pipeline of new business opportunities
  • Experienced in driving teams to high activity
  • Commercial acumen and experience including pricing/contract negotiation skills
  • Prior experience developing a Graduate Team would be highly advantageous
  • Impeccable personal integrity, sound judgment in ambiguity and flexibility in leadership style
  • The drive, ability and credibility to build strong working relationships with a broad spectrum of colleagues and customer contacts up to board level
  • Excellent communication skills; written, verbal and listening
  • Effective at managing workload; balancing the important with the urgent whilst meeting agreed deadlines
  • Willingness to travel including overnight stays where necessary
  • Graduate or equivalent education
  • Based within a reasonable commute of Nottingham city centre
