Learning Pool’s Design team is responsible for all design output across key areas of the business. As a Senior Designer, you will be working in a lively and busy design team, you will undertake high-quality learning design work on multiple projects from start to finish – including catalogue and bespoke work. Confidently working with clients across a range of content types, subject areas and authoring tools, you will take a lead role in ensuring the delivery of the best possible learning solutions for our clients.

What you'll be doing

This is a key role and will take responsibility for:

  • Provide regular updates to Project and Design Managers
  • Lead and advise fellow employees in both the creative process and client management to foster stronger working relationships and solutions
  • Provide design direction and guidance on new business opportunities. Pitches and bids
  • Lead design efforts with internal and external clients to conceptualize and deliver creative
  • Working closely with the project leads to create accurate time estimates and breakdowns to ensure we deliver solutions within budget an on time
  • Supervise and mentor juniors, overseeing and coaching on the creative process, and ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery of projects
  • Ensure quality and consistency of design throughout project lifecycles
  • Identify and execute agreed initiatives that increase team productivity.
Who we are looking for

The successful candidate will be someone who:

  • Thinks creatively and able to apply that across multiple design disciplines, print, UX/UI,
    content, Can Interpret complex and sometimes unclear requirements from our customers
    (internal and external) and produce fantastic designs that our customers will love
  • Understands the importance of and develops strong working relationships with team
    members across the company
  • Initiates and leads activities to shape and improve processes, production to improve overall
    team productivity within the design team and the wider company
  • Takes the lead to engage and inspire customers effectively, as a point of contact on projects
  • Is highly organised and able to coordinate team efforts on projects
  • Displays strong leadership within the team and on projects
  • Shares new design knowledge/trends/techniques with design and content team
  • Can confidently and clearly justify design decisions
  • Shows willingness to get involved in the entire lifecycle of a project. From concept to build to

and will have the following skills:

  • Expert knowledge of design software, Adobe Creative Suite or equivalent
  • Strong organizational, problem solving and time-management skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • The ability to take projects from start to finish, offering a variety of design solutions
  • In-Depth understanding of UX and UI principles and application to design challenges
  • Experience in building relationships with customers
  • Strong conceptual skills and a high-level sense of design
  • 3 plus years experience in a creative design role
  • Proven experience delivering a wide range of customer projects
  • A Graduate-level qualification in an Art and Design discipline

Experience or understanding in and of the following areas is a bonus:

General awareness and understanding of the possibilities of Articulate Storyline, Adapt Framework, Adobe Flash/Animate, Totara, Other E-learning Authoring tools, Animation, Video, 3D, CSS, HTML5.
