The role

As a member of Learning Pool’s Commercial Management team, the role is crucial to the ongoing rapid growth of the company and presents significant potential for career development and personal reward for the successful candidate.

Open to existing sales managers or senior salespeople searching for their first sales leadership position, the role assumes responsibility for an existing field sales team who are responsible for identifying, engaging and onboarding new customers to Learning Pool.

What you'll be doing

Roles and responsibilities:

  • Lead, develop and maintain a high-performing sales team of 6-8 business development managers with a range of experience levels
  • Contribute to ongoing Commercial Strategy development and deliver associated plans and actions
  • Achieve allocated sales targets through creative and effective use of direct and virtual team resources
  • Identify, engage in and, where appropriate, lead our largest sales opportunities through to successful conclusion
  • Provide market insight to the product management function to ensure the Learning Pool solution roadmap remains at the forefront of the e-learning industry
  • Make full use of the Salesforce CRM system, ensuring accuracy of team lead, contact, opportunity and account information at all times whilst using KPI’s and reporting insights to constantly manage and improve performance
Who we are looking for

The successful candidate will have:

  • A track record of sales and/or sales leadership success, overachieving on target and winning complex, six-figure, full-solution sales; preferably in the technology industry
  • Commercial acumen and experience including co-creation of value-based investment cases and pricing/contract negotiation skills
  • Impeccable personal integrity, sound judgment in ambiguity and flexibility in leadership style
  • The drive, ability and credibility to build strong working relationships with a broad spectrum of colleagues and customer contacts up to board level
  • Excellent communication skills; written, verbal and listening
  • Effective at managing workload; balancing the important with the urgent whilst meeting agreed deadlines
  • Willingness to travel including overnight stays where necessary
  • Graduate or equivalent education
  • Ideally based within a reasonable commute of the office in either Derry, Northern Ireland or Nottingham, England.

Whilst it is not essential that candidates have line management experience, it would be preferable.
