This module has been put together to provide you with information and guidance around your organization’s communication support. By the end of the module, you will be able to recognize the different types of deafness and dispel the common myths. We’ll help you identify the different ways in which deaf people communicate, and recognize the different forms of communication support available. We also look at working with an interpreter.

Learners will be introduced to the different descriptions of deafness and the different ways in which deaf people may choose to communicate. They will be aware of the various forms of communication support that are available to deaf service users and the process to follow when booking a communication support session.
