The Public Law Outline (PLO) is a statutory timescale put in place by the Children and Families Act (2014). This module will help you understand the purpose and function of the Public Law Outline in relation to care proceedings as well as recognizing the key dates and stages of the proceedings processes. It will examine pre-proceedings and identify which documents must be filed with the Court and when these must be acted upon.

On completion of this module, your learners will understand how their skills and experience relate and inform the care plan and recognize key court processes and timescales up to the final hearing.
