Learning Pool (formerly HT2 Labs) Expand US Presence With New Office, New Team Members
January 18, 2017
Last week saw the opening of a new US-based office for Learning Pool (formerly HT2 Labs), the R&D Company for Learning and Performance, and with it the addition of four new team members.
Having identified Boston, MA, as the ideal location for a new office and base from which to grow the company’s US footprint, HT2 started looking for new talent in Autumn 2016. Last week saw the opening of the new office and two new recruits – James Lindberg and Nicole Kastner – joining the company.
A Growing Team
James Lindberg joins Learning Pool (formerly HT2 Labs) via another Learning Tech startup, HapYak Interactive Video. Highly educated, with an MBA from University of Maryland and BS from University of New Hampshire, James is an expert in the application of cutting edge technology to workplace learning.
Nicole Kastner arrives at Learning Pool (formerly HT2 Labs) with great experience of data-driven software solutions, including a stint at one of Boston’s hottest startups, Datadog. Armed with a JD from Suffolk Law School and a BA from Boston College, Nicole is a Boston resident, well-placed to help connect Learning Pool (formerly HT2 Labs)’ new offices with the local community.
At Learning Pool (formerly HT2 Labs) – Boston, James and Nicole will be driving forward new business, working with existing customers to help them realize the value they can get from the company’s full product range, and sharing the latest research and development resources with the local community.
Their appointments follow the addition of a new Customer Success Apprentice (who joined in December 2016), and a new Software Engineer, Mariusz Rajczakowski (starting later this month), both based at the company’s Headquarters in Oxford, UK.
These new hires are expected to be the first of many new recruits throughout 2017 as the company continues to grow. Details of all roles actively being recruited for can be found on the Learning Pool (formerly HT2 Labs)’ Careers page.
Location, Location, Location
Boston is one of North America’s fastest growing startup hubs, with a series of market-leading SaaS companies choosing to set up shop alongside some of the world’s best university campuses.
The company’s new Boston home is temporarily situated at the LearnLaunch Campus – Boston’s only co-working space dedicated to edtech startups. A move to a larger co-working space in nearby Melcher Street is expected to take place in late February.
Ben Betts, CPO of Learning Pool (formerly HT2 Labs), was in Boston to welcome the new recruits, and expressed his excitement at the company’s recent growth:
“2016 was, without doubt, our best year to date. We more than doubled our previous year’s profits, expanded our product range and added some great new customers along the way.
“The addition of James and Nicole sets us up to better support our customers in US time-zones, and gives us a great opportunity to connect with customers, partners and new recruits in the Boston area. As we look to continue our rapid growth, and increase our focus on delivering excellent customer service and support, it’s important that we continue to grow the team. Boston offers the ideal environment in which to make this happen.”
In the coming months James and Nicole will be attending the Learning Technologies show in London (February 1-2), and Learning Solutions in Florida (March 22-24), alongside colleagues as they look to connect with existing customers, meet new prospects and establish themselves within the learning technologies community.
