Learning Pool supports your site software. As that software ages and is either replaced or retired, Learning Pool gradually reduces the support it offers. Ultimately, software that ages out of our support schedule will no longer be supported. This document defines Learning Pool’s levels of support as well as the timeline on which key software releases enter into each level.
Note: Each level of support includes the lower levels of support. For example, if you are currently at Level 3 support, you are also receiving Level 1 and Level 2 support.
Level 3: Custom-Add Ons & Training
Learning Pool helps to add and maintain new functionality to your site with custom development work. Learning Pool also makes full training available to your staff on the use and features of your site.
Level 2: Front End, Infrastructure, & Applications
Learning Pool provides assistance to administrators and instructions on how to configure and use their site effectively. Learning Pool also keeps your site running at optimal levels of performance and security. Learning Pool is also maintaining your code base version, supporting add-ons, fixing security bugs when possible, and suggesting work-arounds for problems.
Level 1: Fixed Code Base
Learning Pool keeps your site turned on but does not alter code in any way, including bug fixes, security patches, or support add-ons. Learning Pool cannot guarantee security or optimal performance. Learning Pool will answer questions about your site.
No Longer Supported
Learning Pool does not guarantee support of any kind for software that is no longer supported. This includes access to our support and training staff. Learning Pool encourages you to regularly upgrade your site software to guarantee the ongoing operation of your site. It is possible for your release of Moodle or Totara to become so old it is impossible to support.
Note: Moodle and Totara regularly provide upgrades to their existing releases and periodically provide new major releases. Over time, support for older releases is dropped, effectively ending the life of that release. This includes the server operating system, the web server, the application server, database server and other software. Older, unsupported versions of Moodle or Totara may be unable to function on newer system-level software. As performance and security releases for the system-level software are made available, the older systems cannot use them. This can leave older systems vulnerable to security risks, performance issues and possible loss of function.
To aid in scheduling your upgrades, refer to this end-of-life service schedule. This schedule indicates the dates at which support levels end. Please note your current release and plan accordingly. Versions not listed on this schedule are no longer supported.
