Introduction
Have you been wanting to reach your users in an easier way? Take a look at our SMS integration. Were you wondering why that email failed? Our new email export feature can give insights into this. These features and more will enrich your experience with Stream Automation!
SMS Messaging
What it is
Campaign Managers now have the ability to send bespoke SMS messages as part of their Workflow.
Why we have done this
This enables Campaign Managers to contact anyone within their organisation via SMS. The accessibility of SMS allows organisations to reach their learners anywhere, whilst the familiarity of SMS offers ease of use to learners.
SMS messaging is Stream Automation’s first step in expanding to multi-channel communication. Combining SMS and email within one Workflow grows learner engagement as the learner’s capacity to take action increases. With SMS providing multi-channel communication, the limitation of reaching learners via one specific channel is alleviated.
How it works:
Prerequisites:
How to use it:
- Create a Workflow for the tenant with a successful Twilio integration.
- Add the Send SMS message Workflow item.
- Enter a valid phone number including the international code. For example, +44 for UK mobile numbers. Custom field variables can also be used as long as they were set up previously within the Workflow and there is a phone number associated with the user profile in Stream Data Cloud and/or Stream LXP.
- Enter the message to be sent.
- Click update to incorporate the SMS messaging on your Workflow. Head over to the Learning Pool Academy for more information
Bounced Emails List Export
What it is
Campaign Managers are now able to export a list of bounced emails in the form of a CSV file.
Why we have done this
This helps identify emails needing to be re-sent ensuring that the learners are reached. It also gives the Campaign Managers a chance to inspect potential issues with the email.
How it works
Following the steps below will export a list of bounced emails. Head over to Learning Pool Academy’s reporting guide for more information.
- Log in to Stream Automation and navigate to Email Statistics (/email-statistics)
- Clicking the ‘Export’ button within the ‘Bounce Rate’ section downloads a CSV file containing all the bounced emails within the filter dates selected.
- The CSV file shows the bounced email address, the date when it occurred, the name of the Workflow, and the specific Workflow item.
Create, Update, Delete Users from Stream LXP
What it is
Campaign Managers can now Create, Update, and Delete Users within their Workflow.
Why we have done this
This enables Campaign Managers to apply learner-detail changes based on prior Workflow actions on top of having the capability to automate learner account creation and speed up learner management. This also facilitates tighter integration between Stream Automation and Stream LXP as user data provisioning increases.
How it works
Step-by-step instructions on how to use this feature can be found on the Learning Pool Academy: Create user, Update user, Delete user.
Get and Update Custom Fields from Stream LXP
What it is
Campaign Managers can retrieve and set a value against custom profile attributes from Stream LXP.
Why we have done this
This offers additional flexibility for organisation-specific processes by being able to retrieve and amend relevant Steam LXP data across their Stream Automation Workflow. This can enable Campaign Managers to further customise their learner’s experience based on the learner’s Stream LXP data. For example, updating a learner’s custom profile field in Stream Automation could add them into a new group within Stream LXP, where Stream LXP groups could grant access to specific Learning Experiences, and/or automatically enroll group members in specific Learning Experiences.
How it works
Prerequisites:
- The Tenant has to have a Stream Integration set up. Please contact the Customer Support team to ensure that this is set up.
- The Tenant needs the ‘Admin user Id ’ populated under the ’Optional Fields’ on their Stream Integration set up. Please contact the Customer Support team to ensure that this is set up.
How to use it:
Step-by-step instructions on how to use this feature can be found on the Learning Pool Academy: Get and set custom field values.
Bug fixes
- We added caching in the LMS integration to improve the latency of Workflow retrieval [LEAR-2313]
- Test jobs ran now displayed in the Jobs and History tabs when using the Quick Test feature. The Clear All button is now showing when Filter was clicked on the Campaign Reporting page. [LEAR-2511]
- Learners now receive a completion email rather than an escalation email upon course completion on the LMS. [LEAR-2518]
- CC and BCC recipients now get only one email when campaign unsubscriptions are allowed and the CC or BCC fields were populated in the email Workflow item [LEAR-2515]
- The Workflow is now capable of handling when the username is set up as an Actor Type in LMS. [LEAR-2429]
- The Workflow can now handle looking within statements that don’t have object.definition.type. This allows xAPI statement item outputs to be mapped to the custom variables. [LEAR-2565]
- The Admin Dashboard shows the number of jobs created based on the filtered date range without including created tenants within the same range. [LEAR-2568]
