At Learning Pool we’re passionate about our people and serious about our responsibility to make the world a better place. We’ve made some of our lessons available completely free forever, so that individuals and organisations can access important information as and when they need it. Now we’re adding another to that list!
Introduction to Social Prescribing
We’ve been working with Spring Social Prescribing. Social Prescribing gives GPs and some other healthcare professionals a way to refer patients with social, emotional and practical needs to sources of support within their communities. The main goal of social prescribing is to address the needs of patients, in a person-centered way, with a community-led approach, so that they feel empowered and have more control over their own health and wellbeing.
You’ll find it on Stream Authoring (Adapt) in your Starter Pack collection or on Learning Pool’s CSR page.

The Coffee Collection – Brand New Collections
For the past two years, No travelling = No guests… The hospitality industry went from no movement to reopening in 2022 and responding to an influx of travel in a short space of time. Training new staff, refreshing experienced staff and keeping customers happy is a tough job.
400 billion cups of coffee are consumed each year globally. Crafting the perfect coffee is harder than it looks. Understanding the Theory of Coffee is just as important as making an Espresso or Latte. We’ve developed this collection to guide new (and upskill) baristas through the complete process from pouring beans to serving with some coffee art.
This collection takes an in-depth look at Coffee Theory – The history of coffee, beans & storage and caring for equipment. We’ve also included over 10 tutorials on crafting the perfect coffee.

New Leader Audio and Safe and Legal Audio collections are both listening collections made up of 15 minute lessons. Now SCORM and xAPI compatible. Also available via MP3 to listen on the go! You’ll find them in Showcase.

Safe and Legal Audio:
This is a combination collection! We’ve got Cyber and Diversity topics — this collection looks at the basics of protecting yourself and your company from cyber attacks. First we look at malware and explain how to mitigate against it. We then move on to Social Engineering and give you practical tips on ensuring you don’t become a victim of this. We look at the meaning of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion before moving on to unconscious and implicit bias and microaggressions. After that, we look at banter and bullying in the workplace before ending with how to be more culturally aware. Finally we teach you the common types of cyber attack and practical tips and tricks for managing your passwords.

Online Safeguarding (both Collections and Catalogues)
‘Safeguarding and Social Media’ has become ‘Online Safeguarding’. We all spend a lot of time online, not just on social media anymore. We’ve rewritten this course to include and expand into what children and young people are using socially online. We’d recommend taking a new copy of this course if you’d like the updates.

All sections of this lesson have been updated with new graphics and information required in radicalisation training. We’d recommend taking a new copy of this course if you’d like the updates.
