Understanding Mental Health in the Workplace - Leadership Skills E-Learning Module

92% of people believe that admitting to having a mental health issue would damage their career. In order to change this perception, we need to raise awareness of mental health issues in the workplace, exactly what this piece of e-learning aims to do. The learning is set in the Daily Connection, a national newspaper where the employees work long hours, under high levels of pressure, in order to meet daily deadlines. As an employee of the newspaper, your mission is to discover the truth behind mental illness and learn the best ways to support those who have mental health issues. As you meet certain objectives within the module, you will be rewarded with valuable pieces of information relating to mental health. The module looks at what mental health is and why it matters, it also looks at the range of mental health problems and how to spot some of the signs and symptoms. There are some practical tips for engaging and supporting colleagues who you suspect have a mental illness.
