Trans Awareness - Social Care E-Learning Module

This module provides a general overview of trans awareness. It explains what trans awareness is and why it matters to all of us, as well as describing the definitions of gender and sexuality and how they are on a continuum. It also looks at some of the common stereotypes and ignorance around trans issues, the reality of being trans at key stages in a trans person’s life and the range of treatment and types of medical processes relevant to trans people. The purpose of this e-learning course is to help you: understand some of the terms surrounding trans awareness recognise the difference between sexuality and gender identity understand the bigotry and discrimination facing trans people examine how it might feel to be trans explore the misinformation and misconceptions about trans people
