We used our platform at Learning Technologies 2019 to raise awareness for Save the Children.
For every visitor to our stand, we donated £5, giving us a total of £2,115 to donate to a great cause this year.
We love to bake cakes here at Learning Pool, nearly as much as we love eating them!
We recently held a bake sale in our Nottingham office and raised £101 for Red Nose Day and regularly hold our own Bake Off-style fundraisers for chosen charities in each of our offices.
We know how valuable reading is for young minds. That’s why each year we take part in the BITC Time to Read programme.
Learning Pool team members visit a local primary school where they’re introduced to two children for a year’s development partnership focusing on the development of literacy and numeracy skills to help build confidence and self-esteem.
Palliative Care service charity, Foyle Hospice, regularly welcomes Learning Pool volunteers to help with the up-keep of their beautiful gardens.
On Be a Saint Day this year, a few of the team dropped by to help clean up and plant some new saplings.
In 2019 set ourselves the goal of walking 2 million steps collectively as a team. Sounds like a lot, but that’s the equivalent of the distance between our UK offices.
We managed to smash our target in a single week with a total of 3.5 million steps resulting in a donation of £1,000 between our chosen charities!
We’re taking part in annual the GT5K Runway Run with Grant Thornton to help raise money and awareness for the Simon Communities with eight of the Learning Pool team participating and contributing £200.
We recently took part in Girls in ICT week at Victoria Prep School in Belfast.
A member of our technology team went to a local preparatory school to deliver seven 45-minute taster sessions in Scratch and Scratch Jr.
Scratch is a colourful programming interface developed by Massachusetts Institute for Technology (MIT) and is used to teach complicated programming concepts to children in a fun and engaging way.
