Learning Locker®’s Queen’s Awards Win Commemorated with Duke of Gloucester Visit

In celebration of the Queen’s Awards for Enterprise 2019 win for Learning Locker®, Learning Pool’s newly acquired Oxfordshire-based office welcomed His Royal Highness, The Duke of Gloucester last month to honour the awards.

In April 2019, HT2 Labs (now a part of the Learning Pool Group) were among 60 other organizations nationwide to have been presented with the Award for Innovation, following their success with the multi-award-winning Learning Locker.
The Queen’s Award for Enterprise is the most prestigious award for UK businesses, recognizing and celebrating success across the nation. The awards acknowledge outstanding achievement across four categories: innovation, international trade, sustainable development and promoting opportunity through social mobility.
Learning Locker, the world’s most-widely installed Learning Record Store (LRS) is a big data store used to store, sort and share digital learning activity. Available in both Open Source and Enterprise editions, the LRS enables organizations to reconcile learning experience data from many systems into one, presenting a seamless source of analysis, making learning measurable.
In June 2019, HT2 Labs’ CEO, Dr Ben Betts (now Chief Product Officer at Learning Pool) and founder, Alan Betts (now Principal Consultant at Learning Pool) were invited to a Royal Reception at Buckingham Palace.
Furthering the celebrations, HT2 Labs and Learning Pool combined were thrilled to host The Duke of Gloucester at their office in Oxfordshire on the afternoon of Friday 25th October. His Royal Highness was accompanied by The Queen’s Representative, the Lord-Lieutenant of Oxfordshire, Tim Stevenson OBE CstJ and local MP, Robert Courts.

His Royal Highness was introduced to the pioneers behind the innovation, Learning Locker as well as the rest of the team based in Oxford, where he learned more about the other solutions developed by Learning Pool and the day-to-day processes of an L&D organization, including those associated with the design, marketing and product development teams.

Learning Locker will hold the prestige of the Queen’s Award for Enterprise for five years, and to mark the occasion The Duke of Gloucester and the Lord-Lieutenant together presented the Learning Locker team with their commemorative crystal bowl and scroll.
