BackgroundBackground

Amway sought a digital learning solution to help Account Managers and their managers develop Project Management and Championing skills to achieve their goal of delivering long-term, meaningful action plans

The company operates in over 100 markets, with varying levels of knowledge and experience among its Account Managers and their managers. Amway needed a modern, engaging, and trustworthy solution from a partner familiar with their preferred working methods, technical infrastructure, and branding.

ChallengeChallenge

The aim of the Project Management solution was to unify the project management process across all Account Management functions. It needed to create consistent and transferable documentation, and codify a previously patchy process. Internal training followed a traditional approach that was in need of modernization.

The audience was new to the Learning Pool Suite, they were time poor, globally distributed, and used to traditional, instructional learning.

The program needed to be universally effective and cover all content in minimum time while also giving learners on-the-job resources. It needed to give learners space to practice and provide easy mechanisms to provide feedback.

Crucially, learners needed a coherent journey, not simply a group of modules on a learning portal. It would need to be one cohesive experience, giving a feeling of being a cohort, with support always being at hand.

Solution

Amway moved away from a course-based curriculum, offering learners a blend of micro-learning modules, virtual classroom training, and resources along with an automated campaign and purposeful social learning - all delivered by Learning Pool’s Platform.

Learners were first introduced to the content in the online modules with plenty of opportunity to apply the newly gained knowledge on case-study based activities

They then deepened their understanding in the virtual classroom sessions, with role plays and peer-to-peer review, using the provided resources and job aids throughout. The final part of the solution was a 6-week Spaced-practice campaign sending messages with mini-quizzes and reminders about key program elements to learners.

The data gathered showed high levels of engagement and that the campaign kept learners motivated.

Learning Pool’s approach emphasized co-creation and iterative development, working closely with Amway stakeholders and learners throughout the project.

This agile "build and learn" methodology involved releasing modules early, gathering feedback, and using those insights to improve subsequent designs. A pilot program with a survey group was utilized for formal evaluation and A/B testing to optimize the learning experience.
