Learning Pool was delighted to join Health Minister Edwin Poots yesterday along with professionals from social work, early years, education, and mobile learning development to showcase the new Child Development 0-6 Years Mobile App.

The Minister commended the partnership between Learning Pool, Northern Ireland Social Care Council, Skills for Care and Development, University of Ulster and Queens University of Belfast to develop this new resource.

He said, “Health and social care is operating in a digital environment and Mobile Technology presents a cost effective method of delivering peer reviewed educational material to care professionals, parents and volunteers when they need it.”

This App brings together the expertise of the Social Work Depts in our universities, the workforce knowledge of the NISCC and the latest technology applications from Learning Pool to provide instant access to the latest expertise in this field.

Paul McElvaney, CEO, Learning Pool explains why we are delighted to be a part of the project:

“We’ve helped to create this App to allow care professionals, parents and volunteers to access training without leaving the office or home. We’re delighted to support such a worthwhile project with an agenda that matters.”

The App will help staff with their professional development, providing easy access to the latest training.
