Our new premises, in the trendy Lace Market area of central Nottingham, is in the historic Birkin Building on Broadway. A former lace warehouse originally built in 1855, the space has most recently been used as a nightclub. Now fully restored by the family-run property company, Spenbeck, into a spectacular office space spanning two floors, we’re hugely excited to be based in one of Nottingham’s oldest and coolest buildings.The office retains many of the club’s features such as a rather dramatic sweeping staircase. The DJ booth has also been preserved for sentimental reasons.
Speaking at the handover last week, Paul McElvaney, Learning Pool’s CEO said:
“We wanted an open-plan building in the Lace Market where we could grow our team and serve our customers. We’ve always believed that new ideas need stable foundations so The Birkin Building is perfect for us. It’s an incredibly cool space, that will support our plans for doubling our staff numbers in Nottingham soon.”
We intend to use the new office as more than just a base for the team and already some eager customers have been paying us a visit. Soon, we’ll open the office even more to customers who want to come in and meet our team and find out about what we’re up to with new products to help our customers perform better.
We find that customers get a lot of value from spending time in a more relaxed environment with our team and learning about how we work. It’s also great for our people to get face to face with customers at every opportunity so we’ve stocked the coffee machine and are open for visitors.The project was brokered by Jonathon Seddon from NG Chartered Surveyors and we’re very thankful to Dan, Luiza and the team from B&M Installations who did a great job of the fit out. Victoria and Becky from Spenbeck have also been hugely helpful in getting us set up and we’re looking forward to working with them as we grow in Nottingham.
