Learning Pool, the Derry-based elearning solutions provider, is delighted to announce the recent partnership with Basketball Ireland which sees them launch “Helpside”, a blended learning approach to training with the use of Learning Pool’s Learning Management System (LMS).
Basketball Ireland (BI) is the national governing body for the sport across the whole of Ireland. Part of FIBA Europe, the European governing body and of FIBA, the world governing body, BI is responsible for the promotion and administration of basketball throughout Ireland and for Irish international participation.
With COVID-19 acting as a catalyst for plans already in place to establish a more practical, resilient and cost-effective method of providing training to over 200 clubs across the country, Basketball Ireland has implemented Learning Pool’s LMS. With it, the company will create and host a number of courses, supported by resources, videos and webinars, targeted at coaches, officials, players, volunteers and clubs as a whole.
Through introducing the digital learning platform, Basketball Ireland will adopt a blended learning strategy that will enable them to deliver consistent learning as well as reduce travel time and costs associated with traditional face-to-face training.
Following an extensive review of the LMS market, Basketball Ireland has strategically partnered with Learning Pool to reap the benefits of leading-edge technology and award-winning support. Learning Pool’s LMS was set apart from its competitors because of its social learning and gamification capabilities which will allow the client to establish an online community for peer-to-peer learning, knowledge sharing and collaboration.
Basketball Ireland’s Online Learning Manager Niall McDermott commented: “We are excited to launch this strategic partnership with Learning Pool, one of the most innovative and fast-growing companies in the elearning industry. Implementing an LMS solution will assist the growth of the sport and help achieve many of the objectives in the Basketball Ireland Strategic Plan.” He continued, “as opposed to having an LMS that simply hosts online courses we want to create a platform that gives all of our members a space to engage in social learning and build a welcoming community of learners across all aspects of our sport. We believe that the Learning Pool system gives us the best chance of achieving this goal and we are delighted to be working with them going forward.”
Basketball Ireland will also use Learning Pool’s content authoring tool, Adapt, to continue to develop its courses, create content that meets specific audience needs and adheres to the businesses brand guidelines and values.
