How EcoVadis scaled sustainability training to 18k+ learners

7 October 2025 Rebecca Hall

EcoVadis, the world’s most trusted provider of business sustainability ratings, went beyond assessments to help companies improve sustainability performance at scale. EcoVadis has a network of over 100,000 rated organizations. They saw the need to make sustainability scores useful—creating actionable learning that drives real change.

The challenge: Bridging the gap between sustainability scores and action

Many businesses receive EcoVadis’s sustainability scorecards, highlighting strengths and weaknesses in areas such as environmental impact, ethics, labor practices, and sustainable procurement. However, understanding these scores is only the first step—companies needed practical, expert-led sustainability training to close gaps and improve their ratings.

The solution: The EcoVadis Academy—flexible, global sustainability training

To meet this need, EcoVadis partnered with Learning Pool to create the EcoVadis Academy, a scalable e-learning platform offering bite-sized, practical courses aligned with 27 core sustainability topics.
Delivered via a seamless single sign-on experience on the EcoVadis platform, the Academy provides global access to sustainability learning, designed for busy professionals in over 100 countries.

Rapid, agile development for maximum impact

Using an agile development model, EcoVadis and Learning Pool released around one hour of new content weekly, resulting in over 30 hours of learning materials available in nine languages. This collaborative approach ensured the content was high-quality, engaging, and relevant.

Results: Driving measurable improvement in sustainability performance

Since launching in late 2021, the EcoVadis Academy has:

  • engaged more than 18,000 learners worldwide
  • supported 1,369 companies in improving their sustainability scores
  • achieved a learner satisfaction net promoter score (NPS) of +43
