NEW YORK & DERRY, July 17, 2025 —  A determined team from Learning Pool recently pulled on their hiking boots to take on Mount Errigal, one of Ireland's most iconic peaks in County Donegal.

The mission? To conquer the mountain and raise vital funds for ARC Fitness, a Derry-based charity that supports people impacted by substance use to rebuild their lives.

This incredible effort raised thousands of pounds for the charity, which Learning Pool proudly matched, bringing the final total to an impressive £6,240. This powerful boost sends a wave of support to people recovering from substance misuse, helping them to rebuild their lives through exercise and positive lifestyle choices.

Rory Watson, a Senior Project Manager at Learning Pool who helped to organise the event, commented: "We’re incredibly proud of the team’s effort in taking on Errigal for a great cause. It was a fantastic day, although our legs were sore afterwards!”

Rory added: “The support we’ve received has been overwhelming. Every step taken up that mountain was a step toward recovery for someone in need. We’re so grateful to everyone that donated, and to Learning Pool for matching the donation."

Matt Norrby from ARC Fitness commented: "This kind of support goes a long way. It helps us keep delivering real recovery and wellbeing services to the people who need them most. Massive thanks to everyone at Learning Pool. Your effort matters, and it doesn’t go unnoticed.”

Learning Pool CEO Benoit De La Tour also praised the team's achievement. "It’s amazing to see our team take on such a challenging and meaningful initiative. We’re proud to support their efforts and match funds raised so that ARC Fitness—who do such important work supporting those going through recovery from substance misuse—can continue their incredible work."

The funds raised will play a key role in helping ARC Fitness continue delivering life-changing programmes, empowering individuals on their journey toward health, hope, and lasting recovery.
