A new suite of free-to-access, online social learning courses have been announced by Learning Pool (formerly HT2 Labs) – thought to be amongst the first of their kind to have received CPD Accreditation.

Delivered through the award-winning learning platform, Learning Pool Platform, the courses are aimed at L&D practitioners and technology managers, and are available to access anytime, anywhere.

Ben Betts, CPO Learning Pool, thinks that Learning & Development professionals should start putting themselves first more often:

“L&D people are so busy developing others that they often overlook the importance of developing themselves. But you are doing yourself, and your learners a disservice if you don’t take some time out to learn something new. The best way to experience a new trend, like social learning, gamification or curation, is to do it. Our free courses give L&D professionals the space to explore these topics in their own time with our brilliant community of practice.”

For the past few years, Learning Pool (formerly HT2 Labs) have run quarterly OLXs (Massive Open Online Courses) focusing on some of the key, emerging topics in learning technologies.  Over 3,000 learners took part in one or more of these free courses in 2015, but until today, you couldn’t earn professional credits for completing the experiences.

As the first curated, social courses to receive official CPD accreditation, that is set to change in 2016. Having passed the CPD Certification process, participants who complete the new-format courses will now receive a CPD Certificate of Completion and are able to claim CPD points/hours in line with their learning experience.
