HT2 Experience Day Round-Up

We’ve had a busy few days here at Learning Pool (formerly HT2 Labs)…

Continuing our tradition of ‘firsts’, we moved into a brand new office space – the first with a boardroom!

We also hosted our very own HT2 Experience Day to celebrate the release of Learning Locker Open Source V2, and to catch up with some valued partners, clients and friends.

In good company…one of our “A Place of Firsts” stencils in the all-new HT2 Boardroom.

We’ve Moved!

Monday 18th September marked our first day as residents of the charming Combe Mill, situated in the greater grounds of Blenheim Palace in Oxford (we haven’t moved that far!).

With a growing list of awards, more new-starters inbound and continued global interest in our cutting edge learning technology solutions, the time for a more spacious HT2 Headquarters was upon us once again.

Our new home brings with it a large open plan office space, plenty of meeting rooms for dedicated time with our clients, a recreational staff-room-come-event-venue and an expanse of Oxfordshire countryside for both people and dogs to roam. HT2 Experience Day – #HT2xOxford

Having only had a couple of days to settle into our new digs, we jumped straight back into action with our HT2 Experience Day on Wednesday 20th September.

This was a chance for valued clients, partners and friends to hear about the latest exciting developments with Learning Locker and the general world of Learning Analytics, along with a grand tour of our new HQ.

After a lively meet-and-greet to start off proceedings, Ben delved into our latest project: Learning Locker Open Source V2.

Following the story of a remarkable family discovery (thanks to data logs), Ben gave us a rundown of the latest innovations featured in the V2 release in addition to key highlights and takeaways from our successful projects with Hasselt University, University of Amsterdam and University of Central Lancashire, plus a corporate case study from IHG.

Aggregate, Automate, Analyse – the foundation upon which Learning Locker OS V2 is built.

Next up was guest speaker Ollie Adkins, who joined us from Gloucester Rugby to explain the role that data and learning analytics play in sports science.

Ollie, 1st Team Sports Scientist at Gloucester Rugby Club, stressed the importance of valid and reliable data when it comes to monitoring injuries, scores, foul plays, team dynamics and many other crucial elements that directly impact player performance.

Soon after Ben’s final round-up, we turned our attention to slightly more pressing matters: the first HT2 BBQ in our new office…

A well earned BBQ with some beers for good measure.

Thank you to all those who attended and helped make our first HT2 Experience Day a huge success. Until next time folks!
