Learning Pool & Clients Celebrate Awards Success for Platform Projects
Learning Pool (formerly HT2 Labs) have been celebrating today after picking up two awards at the the Learning Technologies Awards which took place at the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge Hotel in London last night (November 30).
Over 800 people – some from as far afield as New Zealand, India and Canada – gathered to celebrate the best projects and people in the learning technologies industry at the star-studded Gala Night that saw 53 awards handed out across 18 categories.
SILVER: Best Enterprise Learning Platform Implementation
In a year where there were over 350 entries submitted for the awards, Learning Pool (formerly HT2 Labs) – the R&D Company for Learning and Performance – were shortlisted in both categories to which they had entered, and didn’t have to wait long for their first silverware of the night: picking up the Silver award for the Best Enterprise Learning Platform Implementation along with clients Villeroy & Boch.
This was the same project that won the Social & Collaborative Learning project category at the LPI Awards earlier this year, and demonstrates how Villeroy & Boch was able to create and deliver engaging, social courses across its global workforce with incredible speed through the deployment of a Learning Platform.
Embracing innovations like social, gamification and badges in what the judges described as “a stand-out project” and a “textbook example for others to follow”, performance data gave senior executives the confidence to say that Villeroy & Boch’s investment was paying dividends, and in the face of organisational and budgetary challenges.
SILVER: Best Use of Social and Collaborative Learning
Shortly after, and it was the turn of another Learning Platform project to be recognised in the form of a second Silver award – for Best Use of Social and Collaborative Learning for an InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) project.
This project was an “innovative and brave approach” from an organisation whose stakeholders are semi-independent, culturally diverse and spread across the globe. It took a leap of faith to use social tools to promote best practice in performance management but the risk paid off, with mass participation and learners sharing their stories, their experiences, learning from each other, and solving each other’s problems.
A Winning Year for A Growing Business
The awards round off what has been a standout year for the company, as CEO Ben Betts reflects:
“2016 has undoubtedly been HT2’s best year yet. Our win at last year’s [Brandon Hall] Awards set the momentum for what has been a tremendous year in which not only have we conducted more research and released more product developments than any time before in our history, but we’ve also had more recognition from within the industry for these efforts.
“[Awards are] a testament to all of the hard work and effort that our team put in day-in-day-out, and it’s also great for our clients’ to get recognised for putting their faith in us and our technologies – and what is often a new approach to learning within their organisations.
“We’ve got some big plans for 2017, and can’t wait to start on the next chapter. Watch this space!”
