This research snapshot, carried out by Chief Learning Officer, explores the practices of the organizations with a mature metrics practice.

The survey was taken by a sample of Chief Learning Officer Business Intelligence Board (BIB) members, most of which are senior learning and development practitioners, directors and above. Approximately, 33% of the board are from organizations with revenue greater than $1billion and a further 22% are Fortune 100 or Fortune 500 companies. The majority of organizations on the BIB have more than 1,000 employees and 80% of members are from US-headquartered organizations.

According to the 2020 Learning State of the Industry survey, 63% of all participants report that their organization’s measurement and metrics practices are fully aligned with learning strategy. Additionally, 26% of all organizations calculate a formal ROI for learning.
