Introduction to Hoarding elearning module
The aim of this module is to help housing staff understand the unique condition of hoarding that some tenants may suffer from. It will help dispel the common idea that people who hoard are lazy or dirty and help staff to understand that it is a medical condition. By the end of the module, you will have looked at the different types of hoarding and the risks involved, how to communicate with people who hoard and the steps that are available to housing associations that have to deal with issues arising from hoarding behavior.
Learners will be aware of the different types of hoarding that they may come in contact with, know the causes and reasons behind hoarding and the risks of hoarding behavior to the individual. They will also know the different treatments that can be used to help people with the disorder and how to communicate with a person who hoards.
