Introduction
With this release, Stream LXP gets smarter and simpler, and that’s why we are delighted to announce a new addition to the ‘Discover Page’. Content catalogues can be very large, so being able to quickly and easily find content that is most relevant at the point of need is a crucial element of self-guided learning. On top of this, we have released a powerful update to how Learning Experiences handle xAPI statements, whereby users can be automatically enrolled on a Learning Experience via a completed xAPI statement.
Discover Search
What it is
Discover Search is a brand-new search bar that allows you to easily refine the content on the Discover page by searching for a title or a keyword. It works seamlessly with the new Filter and Sorting options which means you can find what you want, when you want and get immediate relevant results.
Why we have done this
As catalogues grow in size, it becomes increasingly challenging to find relevant content. Even if your site is meticulously organised, a lot of users go immediately to internal search bars when they open a website. Having a search function is the quickest way to connect them to what they need without requiring them to perform extensive site exploration or trial-and-error searches.
This new search bar enables a streamlined and more efficient search process making it easy for users to engage with your content.
How it works
- Once Discover has been enabled by an Org Admin, a search bar will display on the page
- Users can then search for keywords:
- If the keyword(s) match or are found in the title of Learning Experiences, they will display in the list of results.
- If the keyword(s) match or are found in the short description of Learning Experiences, they will display in the list of results.
- If the keyword(s) match or are found in the long description of Learning Experiences, they will display in the list of results.
- This also works with any filters or sorting options available on the Discover page. e.g Users can filter by Learning Experience Type and further refine the results by searching for keywords.

Group Members via CSV Import
What has changed
We have made some critical refinements to the way in which you can add users to groups
- The Group import area is now reserved for adding users to a group unless you have permission to create users.
- The User import area should be used to make user account edits, including creating in bulk.
Why we have done this
Having specific areas for creating and adding users to groups creates greater transparency for different roles on the platform. Peace of mind and less opportunity for error are just some of the benefits that result from this change.
Automatic enrolment via xAPI statements
What has changed
An exciting improvement has been made to how Learning Experiences handle xAPI completions. With this update, a Learning Experience can now be configured to automatically create user enrolments through xAPI completions.
Why we have done this
The previous mechanism for xAPI completions would mark objects as complete only if the user had completed content they were already enrolled on. If the user was not already enrolled on that Learning Experience then they would not see their completion within Stream LXP until they enrolled. With this update Stream LXP can be your centralised record of learning, where completing something off-platform is instantly recorded and up-to-date in-platform. This creates a better experience for clients using 3rd party integrations that make use of xAPI statements for completions.
How it works
- Given the Learning Locker service is enabled, when editing a Learning Experience the “Enrolment via xAPI Completions” setting is available.
- Setting appears in a Learning Experience’s ‘Display Options’ section alongside other enrolment related settings e.g. “Allow self enrolment” & “Allow users to unenroll from course”.
- While the setting is enabled, users will be automatically enrolled when any object in the Learning Experience is completed via an xAPI statement.
- If the user has an existing enrollment it will be unaffected.
- This is the case for all Verbs that your content may send. If an xAPI statement is received and its verb constitutes a completion for an object in a Learning Experience with this setting enabled, the object will be completed and the user will be automatically enrolled on the Learning Experience.
